Mallika cast in Obama film

Mallika Sherwat, who’s apparently hobnobbing with the Hollywood crowd, is all set to star in a film based on the US President Barack Obama’s political campaign.

The film by Doug McHenry is a romantic, political comedy titled Love, Barack. The film tracks the romance between a Democratic campaign volunteer and her Republican counterpart in the run-up to last year’s US Presidential election. The principal photography for the film will kick off in Los Angeles on January 13.

The movie will be produced by Govind Menon and William Keenan’s US-India consultancy and production company Nuclear Mango. The same producers oversaw the post production of Jennifer Lynch’s Hisss starring Mallika.

Mallika’s character (as reported earlier by The Mumbai Age) Aretha Gupta is based on Kamala Harris, the attorney general of San Francisco.

The actress is now working hard to acquire a thick American accent for her role in the film, which has an all-American cast. Mallika has already worked on other international projects including Jackie Chan’s Myth.

Ali as "Sher Khan"

Ramcharan-Kajal starrer blockbuster movie Magadheera has a character named ‘Sher Khan’ played by Srihari. Srihai got good response from the audience for that character. Director Parthasaradhi who directed Kanchanamala Cable TV in the past is directing a new movie with Ali as hero and titled as "Sher Khan". Director said Ali’s “Sher Khan” will also get good response like Magadheera’s Sher khan.Ali played Maghadeera role in Ek Niranjan movie, now he is coming as a Sher Khan.

Nagarjuna’s last round of Rummy

Nagarjuna is starring as hero in the upcoming movie that is being produced by Shiva Prasad Reddy under the banner of Kamakshi Kala has been tentatively titled as ’Rummy’. This movie is in its last schedule. Recently they completed shooting in Goa, currently last schedule going on in Hyderabad will continue till 3rd December and with this the shooting will be completed.

Arya-2 release confirmed

Here is a good news to Allu Arjun’s fans.The star’s film release dates are finally been confirmed. It is likely to be on 25th or 26th november. The post-production work is almost to its ending stage, the producers are thinking to release this month itself.

There are also some more films releasing in december. They are Pravarakyudu on 4th,Adhurs on 18th,Leader on 24th and Rummy on 25th. Saleem is also expected to release in second week of december.The music launched for Arya-2 is rocking all over the state.

Slumdog wins European Film Awards

Slumdog Millionaire has not yet finished its victorious run at award ceremonies as the Mumbai-based potboiler has picked up five nods at the 2009 European Film Awards.

While British director Danny Boyle has been nominated for the award of ’Best European Director’, Dev Patel has been nominated to receive ’Best European Actor’ prize, reported Ace Showbiz online.

The rags-to-riches film which won eight Academy Awards this year has also been nominated in ’Best European Film’, ’Best European Screenwriter’ and ’Best European Cinematographer’ categories. Competing with Slumdog Millionaire in the five categories is Jacques Audiard’s A Prophet, which leads the pack with six nominations.

At the same event, Penelope Cruz is nominated for ’Best European Actress’ for her role in Broken Embraces and her competition includes Kate Winslet in The Reader, and Charlotte Gainsbourg in Antichrist.

The winner of the 22nd European Film Awards will be announced at a gala night, which is going to be held on December 12 in Bochum, Germany.

German comedy star Anke Engelke will serve as the host of the show, while British director Ken Loach and French actress Isabelle Huppert will be among the guests of the event.

‘Chukkalanti Ammayi..Chakkanaina Abbai’ in December

Tarun and Vimala Raman are pairing up for a movie titled ’Chukkalanti Ammayi… Chakkanaina Abbai’. Kanmani is the director of this film. The same director had earlier directed films like ‘Naa Oopiri’and ‘Chinnodu’. This movie is produced by Raju Harwani and Gogineni Srinivasa Rao.

One of the producer, Raju Harwani said that the film is a love story set in the Software industry. The audio launch is being planned in the last week of November and the movie sometime in December. The shooting of the film has almost come to an end.Anoop Rubens is composing the music. Further details are yet to be known.

Varun Sandhesh, a pakka mass hero

The emerging tollywood hero with ’Happydays’ and ’Kotha Bangarulokam’ fame is ready to launch his third movie ’Kurradu’. He defines himself as a Pakka Mass hero in Kurradu. Although this film is third film for him, he has grasped a lot of fans in the industry.

In this film, he is acting as a typical boy from lower middle class section who have dreams like owning a bike and roaming with his girl friend etc. This film is directed by Sandeep Gunnam and Neha Sharma is playing as her dream girl girl in the movie. The film is produced by Kiran under Anandi Art Creations.

Shruti Hassan with Ramcharan in Bommarillu

Ramcharan’s film under the direction of Bommarillu Bhaskar "ORANGE" movie regular shooting would start from November.

The majority of shooting will be held in USA and Australia. As the title indicates, Orange is going to be a fun-filled romantic entertainer. In that movie Bubbly Genelia Playing the lead role and everyone knows that kajal is not interested to do the 15 minutes role. That role is playing by Shruthi Hassan in place of Kajal. In this month flashback episode would be starred by Ram Charan and Shruthi Hassan in Mumbai. Shruthi Hasan is to play that 15 mts flashback role opposite Ramcharan. Bhaskar is in Australia for searching the locations.

Kajal replaces Trisha

Jr NTR starrer movie ’Brindavanam’ is getting into sets. Previously Trisha has been confirmed as heroine, but trisha, due to her Bollywood movie could not Maintain callsheets. With the exit of Trisha, Kajal has been taken as the heroine.

This film is directed by Vamsi Paidipalli and produced by Dil Raju. They are building a set for this movie. Prakash Raj and Srihari are playing important roles.

The young music director Thaman S is composing music for it. Camera by chota k.Naidu. This film will mostly release by April 2010.
