Mani Ratnam’s “Roja” to be released in English

South India’s top director Mani Ratnam made waves with his film “Roja” dealing with terrorism in 1992. One of the greatest events connected with “Roja” is the debut of AR Rahman as music director who went on to win theOscars.

“Roja” starring Arvind Swamy and Madhoo was nominated for the Golden St. George Award at theMoscow International Film Festival. The film also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration, Filmfare Awards (South) for Best Movie and Best Director and Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Director.

“Roja” is now being dubbed intoEnglisg and will soon be released in the overseas market. The English version is expected to en-cash the present international popularity of AR Rahman and the theme of terrorism.
