Aamir Khan To Play A Hanuman Character In Hollywood

The world of cinema is about to see a new superhero inspired by Hanuman, the powerful and fearless monkey god from Ramayana known for his loyalty to lord Ram. US-based producer Uru Patel has been planning to make a modern version of ‘Hanuman’ for quite some time.

Hollywood stars Keanu Reeves and Gary Oldman have reportedly been finalized to play Ram and Raavan respectively. Earlier, the producer wanted a Japanese actor, an expert in martial arts, to play Hanuman since the role requires a lot of action. Now, Aamir Khan has been approached to play the character.

The producer has already met Aamir’s representative in Los Angeles. Aamir has shown interest in the project but will take a final call only after reading the full script. The role might require Aamir to redevelop the eight-pack abs he acquired for Ghajini.

If Aamir gives his nod, the project might roll by the end of this year.

Search is still on for an actress to play Sita. Shilpa Shetty was earlier finalized but the producer now wants to rope in an international face after she excused herself from the project.

The film will be directed by Chuck Russell, known for making fantasy thrillers like The Scorpion King,The Mask and Mandrake The Magician.
